Central Kitchen Deputy Manager

At Turtle Bay, our kitchens are where the magic begins – and our Central Kitchen in Bristol is at the heart of it all. We’re looking for a Central Kitchen Deputy Manager to help lead the team that brings our bold jerk flavours to life for guests across all our restaurants.

This is a hands-on leadership role, perfect for someone with a strong background in kitchens (ideally a chef!) who’s ready to step into a new challenge – supporting a small, dedicated team and making sure our bold Caribbean flavours are produced with care, consistency, and high standards every day.

You’ll get full training – all we ask is that you bring a positive attitude, a calm approach, and a genuine passion for quality and leading people the right way.

About the Role

As our Deputy Manager, you’ll help run the daily operations of our production unit – keeping everything safe, efficient, and running smoothly. You’ll lead by example, support the team to hit high standards, and make sure our ingredients and recipes are just right before they head out to our restaurants.

What You’ll Be Doing

Daily Operations

  • Oversee the day-to-day flow of the Central Kitchen production line.
  • Keep the kitchen safe, clean, and fully compliant with health & safety regulations.

Team Leadership

  • Lead, motivate, and support a small team – setting clear expectations and recognising a job well done.
  • Help your team grow and develop through coaching, feedback, and hands-on support.
  • Spot training needs and help people build skills to take on more.

Quality First

  • Make sure everything leaving the kitchen meets our flavour, quality and safety standards.
  • Run regular checks to ensure recipes and processes are being followed every time.

Stock & Supplies

  • Manage the ordering, delivery, and storage of ingredients – keeping things fresh and fully stocked.
  • Work closely with our suppliers to keep the kitchen running like clockwork.

Compliance

  • Keep us compliant with food safety, hygiene, and kitchen standards at all times.

About You

The ideal candidate for this role will have:

  • Experience in a professional kitchen (as a chef or in a similar team lead role).
  • A strong understanding of kitchen safety and standard operating procedures.
  • Confidence leading a team and helping others grow.
  • Strong organisational skills and the ability to juggle tasks calmly.
  • A practical, thoughtful approach to solving problems.

Sound like your kind of vibe?

Come join the team that brings the magic of the Caribbean to every dish we serve.

It's a lot of fun!
